Badugi is a four card low-hand wins game. The best low hand is comprised of four cards, with none of the same suit, and none of the same rank. When you find yourself holding 4 cards of different rank and suit then you are holding a Badugi (ace, two, three, four all of different suits). However a 4 card hand beats a 3 card hand. A 3 card hand beats a 2 card hand and so forth.
In between each betting round:
- Every player gets a chance to draw for cards.
- Cards have to be discarded before getting new cards.
- Players can change as few as zero or as many as all the four cards in their hand.
First four cards! The dealer deals every player four cards one at a time.
First betting round! The action starts from the first player after the button. This round's bets are small. Each player can call, fold to, or raise previous bets.
Second betting round! The action starts from the first live player after the button. The bets are still in small amount.
Third betting round! This follows the same procedure of betting as second betting round, except this time the bets are typically twice the small bet.
Fourth betting round! This is the final betting round.
Once all the betting is complete, every player who still has cards (has not folded) will put their cards face up on the table and the dealer identifies the winning hand.
