The objective of Online Blackjack is to come as close to 21 without going over, while still having a higher total than the Blackjack Dealer. Prior to receiving any cards, you must place a bet. Blackjack Player Actions:
Bet - To place a bet on the blackjack table, the blackjack player must click on the chip value that they wish to wager.
Deal - The blackjack player gets two cards face up and the blackjack dealer gets two cards.
Hit – When the blackjack player desires another card to be dealt. The player may take a hit at any time before standing.
Stand – Blackjack player desires to keep hand dealt, take no more cards.
Split - Double the bet and have each card be the first card in a new hand. This option is available only when both cards have the same rank or, depending on the locality, value.
Double - When a player increase the bet to a maximum of double the original bet and take exactly one more card.
Blackjack - Is achieved when first two cards total 21. Blackjack beats a score of 21 consisting of 3 or more cards.
Bust - Is achieved when total value of cards for either the blackjack dealer or the player exceeds 21. If the player busts the wager is lost, if the dealer busts the blackjack player automatically wins the wager.
Push - Is achieved when the value of the online blackjack dealer's cards (from 17 to 21) and the Player's cards are equal resulting in neither winning. It also results in the return of the blackjack player's wager.
Surrender - Once a blackjack player hits surrender, the player will receive 50% of his current bet and 50% will go to the house. Surrender is only allowed on the first 2 cards a player receives.
Insurance - If the blackjack dealer's up card is an Ace, the player is offered the option of taking Insurance before the dealer checks his 'hole card'.
The player who wishes to take Insurance can bet an amount up to half his original bet. The Insurance bet is placed separately on a special portion of the blackjack table, which usually carries the words "Insurance Pays 2:1". The player who is taking Insurance is betting that the blackjack dealer was dealt a natural, a two-card 21 (a blackjack), and this bet by the player pays off 2:1 if it wins. It is called insurance because it, in effect, can protect the original bet if the dealer has a blackjack. If you bet the full half of the original bet, you win the same amount of the player's Blackjack wager. In this case, if insurance is taken and the player doesn't have blackjack but dealer does, no money is lost. Of course the dealer can end up not having blackjack and the player can still win or lose the blackjack bet, and the insurance bet is forfeit.
